Anti-Bullying Week - Make a Noise about Bullying!

In the week beginning 13 November, we will be taking part in Anti-Bullying Week. This is a nation-wide initiative that helps schools to raise awareness on aspects of bullying and encourages children, parents and teachers alike to participate in discussions about what we mean by bullying behaviours. This year’s theme is ‘Make a Noise About Bullying’.

To kick start the week, we are participating in 'Odd Socks Day' on Monday 13 November. Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity for children to express themselves and celebrate their uniqueness. There is no pressure on the children to wear the latest fashion or for parents to buy expensive costumes. All they have to do to take part is wear odd socks to school, it couldn’t be simpler! If it is a cold day, then socks can be worn over tights. With the exception of their socks, all children need to wear their usual school uniform.

As a school, together with the Anti-Bullying Alliance resources for this year, we will be participating in assemblies, completing our year group assigned PSHE lessons (focused on bullying) and following the specific lesson designed for this year's theme.
